چکیده

The pyloric network of the stomatogastric ganglion of the lobster generates motor patterns with speciic phase-lags between single neurons. This network inspired us to investigate a simpliied model consisting of three mono-directionally coupled Morris-Lecar oscillators. We have systematically analyzed the high-dimensional space of the synaptic parameters and identiied parameter combinations which lead to biologically plausible phase-lags that exist even in a network with identical cells in the absence of an intrinsic burster. The dependence of the phase lags on the synaptic parameters was also explored.

A neural mass model of CA1-CA3 neural network and studying sharp wave ripples

We spend one third of our life in sleep. The interesting point about the sleep is that the neurons are not quiescent during sleeping and they show synchronous oscillations at different regions. Especially sharp wave ripples are observed in the hippocampus. Here, we propose a simple phenomenological neural mass model for the CA1-CA3 network of the hippocampus considering the spike frequency adap...

Conditions for traveling waves in spiking neural networks

Spatiotemporal patterns such as traveling waves are frequently observed in recordings of neural activity. The mechanisms underlying the generation of such patterns are largely unknown. Previous studies have investigated the existence and uniqueness of different types of waves or bumps of activity using neural-field models, phenomenological coarse-grained descriptions of neural-network dynamics....

Chimera states in neuronal systems of excitability type-I

Chimera states is a fascinating phenomenon of coexisting synchronized and desynchronized behavior discovered in networks of nonlocally coupled identical phase oscillators. In this work, we consider a generic model for a saddlenode bifurcation on a limit cycle representative for neuron excitability type-I. It is given by N nonlocally coupled SNIPER oscillators in the oscillatory regime arranged ...

Orientifold and stringy frame of the Kerr Spinning Particle

We show that the frame of the Kerr spinning particle consists of two topologically coupled strings. One of them is the Kerr singular ring representing a string with an orientifold world-sheet. It has electromagnetic excitations (traveling waves), which corresponds to the old model of the Kerr’s microgeon. The excitations induce the appearance of the extra axial string which is topologically cou...

Properties of variations in the periods of ring neural oscillators with noise

Effects of additive noise on a series of the periods of oscillations in unidirectionally coupled ring neural networks of ring oscillator type are studied. Kinematical models of the traveling waves of an inconsistency, i.e. the successive same signs in the states of adjacent neurons in the network, are derived. A series of the half periods in the network of N neuron is then expressed by the sum ...
